Academics

As a parent and as a teacher, I was careful about the child development program in which I would enroll my twins. Playschool was a very good choice. Thank you to our teacher, the board, and the staff for a well-organized, considerate, and enjoyable learning experience.

Greendale Playschool Parent

Pre-3 Preschool Program

This unique class offers a relaxed introduction to a school setting for children who turn three between September 1st and November 30th of the academic school year. Our emphasis is on learning through play and socialization skills. Our maximum class size is eight children. To maintain the excellent child-to-adult ratio we pride ourselves on, parents or guardians of enrolled children are required to act as a parent helper three times a year. Students enrolled in this program meet once a week. Children must be able to use the bathroom independently.

3K Preschool Program

Our 3K program offers a developmentally appropriate curriculum that introduces the building blocks for literacy, language, and math. These experiences are presented in a nurturing environment through a variety of art mediums, books, music, and creative dramatics. Our primary focus is on learning through play while building a strong foundation in socialization skills. We have two 3K classrooms, a larger classroom with two teachers and a maximum of sixteen children and a smaller classroom with one teacher and a maximum of eight children. Children enrolled in this program have options for classes that meet twice a week or three times a week.

4K Preschool Program

Our 4K program incorporates a thematic approach including experiences in literacy, language, science, and math with opportunities for learning through guided play and socialization. We've carefully built our program around learning through play. Each class begins with teacher-guided activities in a group setting. Experiences in different art mediums, music, books, and creative dramatics nurture growth in personal and academic skills to prepare for future school success. Our spacious 4K classroom accommodates two teachers and maximum of sixteen children. *Students enrolled in this program enroll for three days with an option to add a fourth day through the Playschool Explore program beginning in October.
